“Heather’s Light Foundation” was founded in 2022. The Pandemic drastically restricted everyone’s ability to gather and celebrate or morn for people living or dead. By Bunk Walker – Father & Director HLF
Despite all the restrictions placed on us for small gatherings in August 2020. To our amazement 200 plus people from as far as Texas, Georgia, Florida, New York, California, and all over Ohio attended her Memorial Service in Springboro Ohio. Lord knows how many would have attended if not for the lock downs.
That outpouring of Love, Respect, and acknowledgement from her Family, Friends, and especially from her piers from the Medical Community for Heather as a Nurse and a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia) was amazing. That outpouring and attendance in the face of the restrictions spoke to us.
The family knew she was special and a blessing, but we had never been exposed to the Professional side of Heather – enlightening would be an understatement. My Heart was overflowing with Pride and Love …
We knew then we had a calling to keep her memory and spirit alive. Still, we have the Lock Downs etc. and the timing wasn’t right.
We felt that finally in 2022 we could get rid of the Masks and start being able to gather and socialize as loving children of God again - like it’s supposed to be.
We researched all the possible entities by which we could start the foundation and found the perfect fit for us, “The Dayton Foundation” www.daytonfoundation.org
