Heather Walker Tribute Fund
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is very dear to our hearts. Heather became a patient at NCH in 2006 when she had a stint inserted in her heart and NCH remained Heather’s Hospital for follow up and later treatments for blood a blood clot in her heart, which ultimately caused her death on July 21st, 2020.
Not only was Heather a patient, she worked at NCH from March 2010-April 2016. Heather was inspired by Dr. Daniels, Heather’s doctor for her stint procedure, to continue her education and achieve a BSN and come back to NCH and he would employ her. He did just that and she became sort of a poster child of hope for other families with children with heart defects.
Heather Walker Tribute Fund – The Fund was established after her passing in 2020.
Funds raised have been used to create ways to improve the hospital experience for our families and patients, and to enhance the lives and careers of Heart Center staff.
